Adversity can be a blessing, if you can see the favor in it.

Hi my name is Sharon Crump. I am one of the founders of Inside Out Center, Inc. I have a passion for those who are experiencing financial setbacks. I enjoy helping people. I understand that everyone experience difficult times at some point in their lives.

I experienced one of my most difficult times only 5 years after I was married. At the time our household income was in the six figures. I had a system and a mapped out plan to be debt free. We were almost debt free when my husband was laid off.

Well, a year goes by and he was still unable to find work. Thank God that we were not in much debt so my income was more than enough to sustain us and live comfortable. But something happened, I was laid off. Here we were two unemployed folks with no income coming in. Things just got real! We couldn't even get financial assistance from the government.  Yep, they wouldn't give us food stamps until we had exhausted all of our savings.

Anyway, the funniest thing happened. Three months later after I was laid off, I became pregnant with our first child. I thought God had a sense of humor because we had been trying for 2 years prior to being laid off. I had gone to specialists and everything. Somehow, God had waited until we had no income to bless us with a child.

This could be a long story but I'll stop there. I will say that what kept us was remembering the promises of God over our lives. We knew that through it all, God was our provider. We saw the blessings in the midst of the adversity. I am grateful for the nonprofit organizations that provided the food, clothing, crib, and diapers for my child during our financial hardship. I didn't mind standing in lines to get cans of food or receiving used donated clothes.  I met some great people along the way. It was a blessing that those organizations were there to help my family when we needed help.

Now it is our time to pay it forward. It is never too late for you to start over and accomplish your dreams.

Hello. I'm Jock Crump. I am the co-founder of Inside Out Center, Inc. Here's a quick story. I remember when I flew to Chicago to meet my soon to be in-laws for the first time. I had flown there to ask Sharon's parents for permission to marry her. Some how her whole family was there as I talked to her parents (That's another story). I spoke from my heart. I told them how much I loved her.  How I was going to provide for her, respect and honor her. I received the whole family blessings and permission to marry her.

Well fast forward to 7 years later where I found myself unemployed for two years, married with a new born baby on the scene. We were on food stamps and Wic. There was three seperate times in one year were I went to bed not knowing if our house was going to be auction off the next morning on the courthouse steps. Each of those mornings, I woke up to a miracle of our property being taken off the auction list on the same morning it was to be sold. God hand was on us.

I had now been unable to find a permanent position for two years and Sharon had been unemployed for a year. One day out of the blue, a recruiter found an old resume of Sharon's and called her with a job offer. However, there was only one problem, at least we thought. We had a new born that would not take a bottle. Sharon had to nurse her every 4 hours. She explained to the recruiter that she could not take the job but the recruiter insisted. He stated that they could not find anyone who had her skill set. He told her that she could work part time for 4 hours and to name her price. Well, she did. Working 4 hours a day, in 6 weeks, she set the authentication system, created training material, trained the staff on the system, and walked away with over $12,000. It was enough to prevent our house from reaching the courthouse steps to be auction off for the fourth time. Weeks later a manager called me and told me I had the skills they needed. I was hired over the phone based off of what was on my resume. He did not ask me one question related to my technical experience.

I want you to know that your brighter day is coming. Don't give up. We are here to help you. I look forward to serving you.

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.
