Hi my name is Sharon Crump. I am one of the founders of Inside Out Center, Inc. I have a passion for those who are experiencing financial setbacks. I enjoy helping people. I understand that everyone experience difficult times at some point in their lives.
I experienced one of my most difficult times only 5 years after I was married. At the time our household income was in the six figures. I had a system and a mapped out plan to be debt free. We were almost debt free when my husband was laid off.
Well, a year goes by and he was still unable to find work. Thank God that we were not in much debt so my income was more than enough to sustain us and live comfortable. But something happened, I was laid off. Here we were two unemployed folks with no income coming in. Things just got real! We couldn't even get financial assistance from the government. Yep, they wouldn't give us food stamps until we had exhausted all of our savings.
Anyway, the funniest thing happened. Three months later after I was laid off, I became pregnant with our first child. I thought God had a sense of humor because we had been trying for 2 years prior to being laid off. I had gone to specialists and everything. Somehow, God had waited until we had no income to bless us with a child.
This could be a long story but I'll stop there. I will say that what kept us was remembering the promises of God over our lives. We knew that through it all, God was our provider. We saw the blessings in the midst of the adversity. I am grateful for the nonprofit organizations that provided the food, clothing, crib, and diapers for my child during our financial hardship. I didn't mind standing in lines to get cans of food or receiving used donated clothes. I met some great people along the way. It was a blessing that those organizations were there to help my family when we needed help.
Now it is our time to pay it forward. It is never too late for you to start over and accomplish your dreams.
